I am embarrassed to admit... there was a cobweb in a neglected corner of my bedroom! My 4-year-old pointed it out, giving me the opportunity to teach her the difference between a spider web and a cobweb.
After she asked “what’s that thing hanging from the ceiling?” I explained that a spider web (which she knows well because her pet tarantula lives in one) is active and occupied and serves a purpose. A cobweb, on the other hand, is old, dusty, and abandoned.

I know my house is not spotless - and normally as a mom with young kids (that aren’t super helpful with chores yet!), I can give myself grace for being too busy for housework and choosing to spend time with my family instead. But this cobweb got me thinking: I WANT my LIFE to be lived-in: active and constantly being rebuilt and improved. A little messy sometimes, maybe. But evidence that work is being done.

Eleanor Roosevelt said “The purpose of life is to live it.”

I don’t know what stage or season YOU’RE in, but maybe today it’s time to clear out a little of the cobweb and step back into areas of your life that have become dusty and forgotten.
Life should look lived, not abandoned. I want it [mine] to show evidence that I am still here.
