Sooo… we got a puppy! Are we crazy? School just started and we’re sleeping like we have a newborn again!

So I tried puppy-proofing the house but there's only so much you can do to protect the furniture, toys, and even baseboards from getting gnawed at. (I lost almost half of a flipflop already!)

We’re being patient and we're trusting that this little guy has the potential to grow into an incredible member of our family.

I heard this quote on Season 2 of the TV drama series Paradise: "You can guard against the worst of people while still believing in the best. Just remember that we are all capable of great change, great love, great promise. That's the holy charge."

It's not naive, it's seeing people for who they CAN be: for who God created them to be. Everyone has potential and it’s our God-given responsibility to be patient enough to see beyond who someone is today, and believe in who they can become.

Because just like our puppy, maybe there’s someone in your life who’s testing your patience. And with a little grace, remember: God isn’t finished with them yet. And He’s not finished with you either.
