Luciya asked listeners of the Midday Mix show to recommend the BEST BEACHES in and around Ottawa. Here were some of your answers...
Around Ottawa:
Petrie Island Beach - Sandy beach, picnic tables, amenities, sunset views, bike paths, paid parking, supervised.
Britannia Beach - Sandy beach, volleyball, swimming, great walking area, green space, picnic tables and kids playground, free parking, supervised.
Mooney’s Bay Beach - Green space, shade, sandy area, volleyball, swimming, kids playground and bike paths, free parking, supervised.
Westboro Beach - Recently renovated, pizzeria, patio, sandy area and amenities. Great for swimming or sunsets, paid parking, supervised, dogs on pathways only.
Just outside Ottawa:
Constance Bay Beach - Small sandy area, stunning views, great for paddle boarding and kayaking, dog friendly, free parking, unsupervised.
Lac La PêcheLac La Pêche – Clean water, Kayak & Canoe renting, paid parking, camping spots, fishing spots.
Burnstown Beach – Free parking, dog friendly, lots of greenery, on the way to Calabogie.
